EVERGREEN, Colo.— The public power communities in Colorado, Iowa, Wyoming, and Nebraska will be learning more about advances in smart grid solutions, energy efficiency services, and strategic planning through a new partnership between the Nebraska Municipal Power Pool (NMPP) and Hometown Connections, a utilities service subsidiary of the American Public Power Association (APPA).
Through this marketing partnership, NMPP will host local events and publish advertising, articles, and other materials showcasing the portfolio of Hometown Connections products and services, which include supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, intelligent grid management over power lines, and smart grid software. Hometown Connections also offers online energy audits & information, customer & employee research, property & casualty insurance, and consulting in the areas of broadband smart grid communications and business strategy development. The Nebraska Municipal Power Pool is the service organization of NMPP Energy. It provides services to nearly 200 member municipalities across the Midwest and Rocky Mountain states in a variety of energy and management areas.
“NMPP is dedicated to preserving for public power communities the benefits of local control and reliable, low-cost energy services,” said Gary Stauffer, Executive Director, NMPP Energy. “This new marketing alliance with Hometown Connections will better enable NMPP members to purchase the products and services they need to upgrade their utility operations infrastructure and promote energy efficiency.”
